Get a survey of your asbestos or building
An asbestos survey is carried out when materials are suspected to contain asbestos or ahead of any planned demolition, maintenance or refurbishment. It is important to have a survey before work begins because if asbestos is left alone it may be safe, but as soon as it is disturbed or damaged then it can leak into the air. Once it is breathed in, it can damage the lungs. The damage will not happen instantly but will develop over time and you may be completely unaware that your health is at risk.
Following the guidelines
We carry out both Management, Refurbishment and Demolition surveys in accordance with the HSG 264 guidelines. These set out how surveys, samples and assessments for asbestos-containing materials should be carried out.
Once a survey has been carried out, a report will be provided setting out the next steps or effective asbestos management.
